Anyway, Zettai Kareshi, the manga from which this drama is based on was one of the first mangas that I have ever read (& completed). I absolutely LOVED the manga. I suppose it was mostly because of similar traits to Riko the protagonist.
I decided to give this drama a try after seeing Skip Beat & loving that Taiwanese drama. I noticed that it’s possibly a new trend to have Korean actors starring in these dramas with dubbed voices. Well I must admit this is a great idea to expand the Taiwanese drama industry with a little help from a big brother. However, it must be done so well that you really can’t tell the difference.Si Won’s voice dub was almost flawless in Skip beat and I’m sure most would not have known that it was dubbed without prior knowledge. I also think that Dong Hae’s was quite well done.
In Absolute Boyfriend, on the other hand, I was quite unsatisfied with Ku Hye Sun’s dub. It was a bit annoying and it took a lot from me to tolerate. The first episode started off a bit slowly for my taste but I began to adore it coming down to the last 15 minutes. What really caught me about the drama was the music (& Jiro Wang’s smexiness).
I loved both the opening and closing songs & I believe that those two songs really held the drama together. The opening was perfect (see what I did there xD)for the entire theme of the drama. The ending song was beautiful, and seeing Song Hye Sun’s quite emotional clips (perhaps to be seen in future episodes) made me look forward to this drama.
I think that this drama has a lot of potential & I can’t wait for the other episodes.
