Song of the Week #1: Haru Haru- Big Bang

I first heard this song in the background of a Bubzbeauty beauty vid. I immediately searched for it on YT and I immediately fell in love with it. The video was so touching, I absolutely loved it and I became a BIG BANG fan.

For those of you who are unclear about the meaning of the video, here's my interpretation: G-dragon was in a relationship with the chick we see at the beginning of the video. They obviously break up as she gives him back the ring. Later on, we see TOP in a car with the girl and G-dragon becomes obviously upset. In the last scene, the chick is at the hospital (supposedly she has cancer) and G-dragon rushes over and meets TOP who told him that he lied and she really loves him (G-dragon). She just passes away and G-dragon cries etc.

Difference between Manga and Manhwa

Manga
Manhwa
Origin
Japan

Reading direction of traditional manga

      1.      The face and eyes are often exaggerated in a cartoon style while the figure is more realistic in proportion.

      2.        There is (usually) a more frequent use of gradient screentone (hatching & shading).

     3.      The Korean name of the author/artist. It is usually double-barrelled and with syllables that do not exist in Japanese (usually the most reliable method of differentiating manhwa; exceptions being when a culturally-neutral pseudonym is used or when the artist is of Korean ethnicity but resides in another country).

     4.       The Korean names of the characters in the manhwa.

     5.      The untranslated sound effects (not always present) are in hangul( Korean alphabet)

I chose to feature this anime first because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. The samurai & traditional Edo themes are so amazing. The quality of the anime is quite remarkable. I recommend this to any Japanese history buffs or anyone who loves good fight scenes and humour in their anime. I rate this a 10.

Introduction to Vocaloid :)

This is just a FYI post on the voice synthesizing software called Vocaloid. So far there have been two series: Vocaloid 1 and Vocaloid 2. Vocaloid 3 is soon to be released. Each series has a variety of both English and Japanese (singing?) characters. So far my favourites are: Hatsune Miku &Megurine Luka.

Hey my name is Thalia and this is my blog. I'll just be posting about anime and Asian dramas I have seen. I'll also post about manga and manhwa I have read, or wish to read. Honestly, I know no one will really read this blog because there are zillions of blogs dedicated to the same topics but I just like to play around with HTML etc and so this way I'll get to fill up my blog with little effort :)
